LARUE and Vietnam football federation kicks off "Larue Cup" in central and central highlands

Ho Chi Minh City, 06 July 2023 - Larue Beer, one of HEINEKEN Vietnam's most popular beer brands, today kicks off Larue Cup - Cup Sieu Phui. The tournament is held in partnership with the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), Vietnam Sports Authority, and the Department of Culture and Sports of the 5 participating cities and provinces in the Central and Central Highlands.

First launched in Da Nang in 2008, Larue Cup has emerged as one of Vietnam's leading football tournaments for young amateur players. It has grown since then into a highly regarded local sports event, and every year sees the participation of hundreds of non-professional football teams.

This year, Larue Cup - Cup Sieu Phui welcomes more than 300 teams from 5 cities and provinces in the Central and Central Highlands – including Da Nang, Quang Nam, Lam Dong, Dak Lak, and Gia Lai. With the total prize pool of nearly 1 billion VND, the tournament celebrates sportsmanship and offers local people an exciting summer festival.

Larue Cup – Cup Sieu Phui is inspired by five-a-side games, a form of football competition popular in the Central and Central Highlands region. This year, HEINEKEN Vietnam has also partnered with Vietnam Football Federation to improve the competition standards and turn the event into a summer festival for local people – with music and performances by professional entertainers. 

Larue Cup 2023 will be rolled out in three rounds, to select the top teams from each region. The matches will take place in different locations as listed below:

• Central Region (Da Nang and Quang Nam): From 15 July to 15 September 2023
• Central Highlands (Lam Dong, Dak Lak and Gia Lai): From 1 September to 30 October 2023
