HEINEKEN Vietnam honored as a best place to work in Asia for the second consecutive year

For the second consecutive year, HEINEKEN Vietnam is recognized as one of the best companies to work for in ASIA for its impactful programs that continue to empower its employees.

Ho Chi Minh City, 10 July 2019 – For the second consecutive year, HEINEKEN Vietnam is recognized as one of the best companies to work for in Asia by HR Asia Magazine, one of Asia’s leading publications for  HR professionals. This recognition was announced at a ceremony held on July 10, 2019, in HCMC, Vietnam. This year, the selection came from 130 nominees across 24 industries, based on proprietary research that assessed each company's working environment, HR practices, employee engagement and job satisfaction.  Part of the process includes thousands of survey responses that HR Asia uses to review the criteria in their ranking. HR Asia developed this proprietary survey in consultation with a team of senior industry practitioners and leading thought leaders.

With people being at the heart of HEINEKEN Vietnam’s business, HEINEKEN Vietnam has heavily invested in developing staff at all levels. Employees working at HEINEKEN Vietnam benefit from the Company’s people development program that focuses on increasing their capabilities and skill sets. A key initiative is the innovative program, Accelerate Your Talents (AYT), which focuses on developing staff in different formats. A great example of one these programs is Short-Term Assignments (STA), in which employees that take part in the program have the chance to work in a different country with a different working environment and people from different teams and cultures. In addition to that, the HEINEKEN Vietnam Graduate Program (HVGP) and its regional initiative, the Asia Pacific Graduate Program (APGP) nurtures high-potential individuals to give them the opportunity to work and learn in HEINEKEN offices around the world. Since launching, the AYT program sent 12 employees overseas for short-term assignments in Laos, China, Singapore, Japan, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, Philippines, Papua New Guinea and Mexico. In 2018, the Company invested VND 31 billion in developing its’ people. These investments are a testament to HEINEKEN Vietnam’s commitment to ensure the development of its people.

“We believe the better trained our people are, the bigger the impact they will have on our company and the country,” said Mr. Leo Evers, Managing Director, HEINEKEN Vietnam. Mr. Leo Evers stated, “HEINEKEN Vietnam’s business success is very much due to its commitment to its people. Our employees are the people on which our company and success is built on.”

HEINEKEN Vietnam understands that a key measure of company performance is measured by employees’ satisfaction and engagement and therefore HEINEKEN Vietnam provides platforms to listen to employees’ feedback in order to take prompt action to improve the working environment. HEINEKEN Vietnam proactively addresses this by hosting periodic Town Hall meetings throughout the year and an annual Climate Survey. Both the Town Hall and the Climate Survey encourage employees to share their feedback, ideas and suggestions to the Management Team for improvement. Through this continual improvement process, HEINEKEN Vietnam has consistently achieved some of the highest engagement scores within HEINEKEN globally.

The long term commitment of staff who have served the Company over 10, 20 and 25 years is not only a clear reflection of their passion– it also shows that staff truly enjoy working for HEINEKEN Vietnam and that this Company is very much their employer of choice in Vietnam and Asia.
