VIETNAM BREWERY LIMITED (VBL) CONTINUES 2014 "DRINK DON'T DRIVE" PROGRAM

 

Ho Chi Minh City, July 28th 2014 – To develop a responsible drink culture in community and build on the encouraging results of the program initiated in 2008, Vietnam Brewery Limited (VBL) continues the “Drink Don’t Drive” program 2014. The 2014 program is implemented in cooperation with the Traffic Safety Committees of 5 key cities / provinces in the South.

Following insights into men’s concerns “business, friend” versus “health, family”, the 2014 theme “Right Choice, Full Joy” is built to convey the “Drink Don’t Drive” message to those who use traffic vehicles, especially men. The program objective is to reduce drinking abuse as well as road accidents related to drink-driving.

With a humorous but easy-to-understand and easy-to-remember tone of voice, the theme will be consistently communicated on all program channels, particularly on mini-billboards placed at high traffic crossroads and streets in 5 big cities including: Da Nang, Nha Trang, HCM City, Tien Giang and Can Tho. The key visuals of mini-billboards will be periodically changed to keep catching attention.

This program message is also widely propagandized via media including comedy episodes on the radio. In addition, there are many interactive activities such as quiz games, online contests on www.uongcotrachnhiem.com.vn and facebook fan page www.facebook.com/uongcotrachnhiem.com.vn. for netizens to participate in and share their interest with friends and relatives.

Apart from business objectives, VBL always aligns its product orientation with the spirit of “Responsible Drink” to bring good quality and enjoyment.  Over the past 6 years, the program has seen good progress in promoting a responsible drink culture in community.

About the VBL Responsible Drink program:

Through many years, VBL has been a pioneer in carrying out the propaganda programs for traffic safety in Vietnam. On January 1st 2008, VBL signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC), to implement the program themed “Know When”. Besides communications through PR & digital channels, from 2009 - 2011, 76 comedy episodes on responsible drink are aired twice weekly on VTV3. From 2012, the propaganda was widely spread out via mini-billboards at high traffic streets and crossroads in 5 big cities in the South. In 2011 - 2012, VBL participated in a program of ICAP (International Centre on Alcohol Policies) to organize training sessions on drink driving enforcement. The message “Drink Don’t Drive” is also printed on all VBL product labels.
