This coming 4 may: For the first time ever in Vietnam, Heineken® brings the perfect F1 experience to vietnamese fans

Ho Chi Minh, 3 April 2018 – In 2016, Heineken® and Formula One Management (FOM) reached an agreement for Heineken® to become a Global Partner of Formula 1® (F1).This partnership provides an incredible opportunity for Heineken® to bring F1, one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events, to Vietnamese fans for the first time - opening up the possibility for Vietnamese fans to share the perfect experience of F1. On 4 May 2018, at Sala Area in D2, HCMC, Heineken® will bring the Red Bull Racing Team, former driver and Heineken F1 Ambassador David Coulthard, and the World’s No.1 DJ, Martin Garrix, for a perfect F1 experience and music event.  

This campaign is also an expansion of Heineken®’s long-standing commitment to responsible drinking. The F1 event will be used as a platform to raise awareness about When You Drive, Never Drink in the ongoing campaign that was launched in September 2017 to drive behavioral change around the issue of drink-driving. 

The main event, held on 4 May 2018 (free tickets to public), will be a real celebration of the perfect F1 experience for fans, proving that F1 is more than just a race. In the presence of David Coulthard, F1 commentator & former driver, now Heineken F1 Ambassador, there will be multiple incredible experiences on offer: from seeing a current F1 Red Bull car in action, to taking in the excitement of the Paddock as well as the Pit stop Challenge. With 13 Grand Prix’s and 62 podium wins in a glittering Formula 1 career, David Coulthard is ideally placed to bring the F1 experience closer to fans all over the world. As a Heineken® F1 Ambassador, David Coulthard shared: “I am honored to help Heineken® bring a perfect F1 experience to Vietnam for the first time.  F1 is one of the world’s most prestigious competitions and it will be a once in a lifetime experience for many Vietnamese fans”.

For the first time ever, Heineken® will make your hearts thump harder by bringing one of the greatest F1 cars ever built in F1 history, to prove its worth on an extravagant racetrack in the Sala area, District 2- Ho Chi Minh City. This also marks the first time that Vietnamese fans have the opportunity to get immersed in the fever of the perfect F1 experience in the Paddock area, to take an exclusive look into F1, or to witness Red Bull’s performance and strategy through the Pit Stop challenge.

The F1 has always been much more than a race though –it is also the glamour and lifestyle off the track that attracts as much attention as the high-performance cars and cutting-edge technology on the track.  To bring the true F1 experience to Vietnam, Heineken® will open your world by also putting on a spectacular music event after the F1 experience, headlined by Martin Garrix - World No.1 DJ for two consecutive years (2016 and 2017). Martin Garrix will be supported by cutting-edge performances by leading Vietnamese artists including: Tuan Hung, My Tam, Son Tung MTP, Dong Nhi. 

Heineken® will also use the occasion of bringing a F1 experience to Vietnam for the first time ever as an important platform to raise greater awareness of the need not to drink and drive. In September 2017, Heineken® extended its long running partnership with NTSC by announcing a dedicated campaign to try to change behaviors towards drinking and driving, based on global research that HEINEKEN® conducted in 10 countries (including Vietnam). Speaking to the importance of spreading the message of When You Drive, Never Drink, Mr. Leo Evers- Managing Director of HEINEKEN® Vietnam, said: “This platform offers an important opportunity to contribute to changing behaviors around drinking and driving. Globally we have used the great impact of F1 and Heineken to ensure this message reaches more and more people and we will continue to do this by running dedicated activations in Vietnam of our campaign When You Drive, Never Drink.  F1 is already delivering strong messages about “Think Before You Drive” and the drivers are excellent role models for being alert and in control when behind the wheel.
