HEINEKEN Vietnam makes progress on Brewing a Better Vietnam

Over its 35-year journey, HEINEKEN Vietnam has remained steadfast in bringing its sustainability ambition “Brewing a Better Vietnam” to life through impactful initiatives and actions. The company has made strong progress through effective partnerships across its three key pillars: Responsible, Environment, and Social.

On responsible consumption, HEINEKEN Vietnam remarks 15 years of collaboration with the government, including a partnership with the Traffic Police to promote road safety awareness, amplifying the message “When You Drive, Never Drink” to drive positive behavioural change in communities. The company also champions moderation by investing in Heineken® 0.0, providing consumer choice across occasions.

Under the Environment pillar, HEINEKEN Vietnam has reached a major milestone in water balancing, reinforcing its commitment to water stewardship, which is essential to both local communities and the business. Through the public-private partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, WWF-Vietnam, and local partners, the company has achieved 100% water balancing across three river basins (Tiền, Hồng, and Đồng Nai) which linked to its breweries in Tien Giang, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City. As a result, HEINEKEN Vietnam now replenishes 100% of the water equivalent to the amount evaporated and used in its products each year within these river basins. This initiative contributes to ecosystem restoration, strengthens water resilience, and delivers tangible benefits to thousands of local households.

Beyond these efforts, the company expands access to clean water for vulnerable communities in Mekong Delta. A community water program in Quoi Thien Commune, Vinh Long Province, implemented in partnership with Central Retail Vietnam, the STARS Water Centre of Tra Vinh University, and MapMe, has improved access to safe water while strengthening community resilience to growing water-related challenges.

HEINEKEN Vietnam continues to create positive impact for people and communities through its Social pillar. For the second consecutive year, the company was certified as a Great Place to Work® and was named among the Top 10 Best Workplaces in Vietnam 2026 (Large Enterprise category), with women holding 46% of leadership roles, underscoring its commitment to an inclusive and empowering workplace.

In 2025, HEINEKEN Vietnam contributed VND 11 billion to support disadvantaged communities nationwide, including disaster relief and Tet programs.

For over three decades, the company has grown alongside Vietnam, making significant socio-economic contributions. In 2025 alone, it contributed VND 27 trillion in taxes,  VND 22 trillion in local procurement and supported approximately 167,000 jobs across its value chain. For every job created internally, an additional 58 jobs are supported across the wider economy, emphasizing its broad impact on growth and livelihoods.

These efforts continue to earn strong recognition. Most recently, HEINEKEN Vietnam was named among the Top 10 Outstanding FIEs in Vietnam (2025–2026) at the Golden Dragon Awards, received a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, and was honored as a CSI Star by VBCSD marking its eighth consecutive year among Vietnam’s Top 10 Most Sustainable Companies.

Commenting on the company's sustainability progress, James Crampton, Corporate Affairs Director of HEINEKEN Vietnam said: “Many of today's environmental and social challenges cannot be addressed by any single organization, but through collaboration, drawing together insights, expertise and resources. HEINEKEN Vietnam has continuously turned complex challenges into practical, everyday actions. We are proud of the progress achieved, and will continue to build momentum by partnering with government, businesses and communities to create lasting impact for Vietnam’s sustainable development, because we believe: Together, We Can.”
